I adopted a Tri-Colored Orange Persian name "Ricky" and if I remember correctly was in late summer 2017. He was on the website for abought 6 months of looking at him. I could not understand why he would still be there!?.. He was surrendered and because the owners could not/did not know how to take care of him properly. Ricky ended up with ear mites and went untreated causing his ear to cauliflower; basically turned to stone. <br>I understood after we met in person that AJ's would not let just anyone adopt. They wanted someone who knew about taking care of this unique breed. I let them know that the Shaded Silver Chinchilla Persian I had at home (Mew Mew) was 21 years old and in perfect health. There was no question about my ability to care for a Persian. <br>When I adopted him we changed his name "Ricky" to Ricky Bobby. I was able to love this animal until this past Mother's Day. Ricky Bobby was in my arms for some snuggle time and had 3 strokes back-to-back and died in my arms. I am heartbroken and desperately want and need to adopt another Persian. I WORK WITH FAMILIES EVERY DAY THAT HAVE STEPPED UP TO THE PLATE TO ASSIST THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS TO CARE FOR CHILDREN THAT ARE IN NEED OF CARE AND A GOOD HOME. MANY OF THEM ARE EXTENDED FAMILY MEMBERS THAT ARE ELDERLY AND THOUGHT THEY WERE GOING TO RETIRE BUT NOW SEE THMSELVES IN A DIFFICULT SITUATION. BOOST A FOSTER FAMILY HAS ALWAYS BEEN THERE TO HELP BY PROVIDING THESE AGENCIES WITH THE RESOURCES THEY NEED TO HELP THESE CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES. THE DIRECTORS JENNY AND MICHELLE ARE AMAZING PEOPLE THAT VOLUTEER THEIR TIME AND GO BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY. I RECOMMEND THIS ORGANIZATION AS A GREAT PLACE TO DONTATE MONEY TO FAMILIES IN NEED. <br>I was given the opportunity to foster 3 of Rotten Rotties pups. The trio…Dio, Metallica and Queen. And oh my goodness, what an amazing experience! They have been so entertaining. It’s been really neat to see their personalities, their sibling interaction, their playfulness and their puppy routines. I’ve already needed to loosen their collars a couple of times, they are getting so big in just the short time I’ve had them. <br><br><br>Metallica is a lover. He is sweet, gentle,aloof and sensitive. He will definitely be someone’s forever lovebug. His personality certainly is shining through. He needs reassurance but once he knows he can trust you, he is in your pocket, and looking for belly scratches. He does not miss a meal, matter of fact he likes to occasionally lay down to eat. He is such a good boy<br><br>Queen is a curious, confident, yet a cautious girl. She too loves to be loved. She loves her toys, the water dish and the water hose. She will watch your every move and give you a mimic show. I have a feeling she is going to be someone’s favorite adventure companion. <br><br>Dio. Well, she’s a character in her own. She’s itty bitty but mighty. This girl has NO fear and rules the roost. She is like a flying sugar glider. When I’m lucky, I’ll get the occasional cuddle up next to me moment. <br><br><br>We are still working on potty training, definitely not there yet but they will catch on with some patience and more training. All I have to say, is thank goodness Frys is having a sale on Bounty the quicker picker upper. They all sit when asked, use the doggie door and are getting more comfortable using the doggie ramp. <br><br>I’m going to truly miss this Trio but I know Ms. Shelly has picked the perfect homes for these perfect pups. I understand why her application is so thorough and her selections are very particular and well thought out. These pups deserve so much love and attention, cause I know they will give it right back. <br><br>Rotten Rottie Rescue - Thank you for what you do and thank you for letting me part of a great Rottie loving team.

Online reviews are meant to help others make educated decisions, so I continue to share our experience from attending American Family Education when I see my post has been deleted. Many other posts from other parents and students that share information about their difficult experiences while attending AFE have been deleted.<br><br>As I read the continued reviews for American Family Education that are within this year, there is concern that families are continuing to experience challenges similar to those we had.<br><br>My children attended for two long months during Covid. During the time we were there, my kids struggled academically, and concern for spiritual struggles was arising due to the religious things taught by the teacher and director.<br><br>Talking to the director, Kathryn, about our worries about the curriculum and what things were introduced by the teacher was not a pleasant experience. After that conversation, my husband and I knew we couldn't keep our kids there.<br><br>Many families (including ours) were overcharged and had to dispute charges; a lot of gossip went on, and information about families and children was shared with other parents (breaching privacy). In traditional schools, sharing information about a student with other parents would not have been tolerated.<br><br>The gate pool was unlocked during school hours, and some kids left class and were sometimes unsupervised. A student drowning was a significant concern. The school (large home) where the classes are held was in poor condition and unsafe for students to be left unsupervised.<br><br>If your kiddo has a learning disability, the curriculum at AFE wasn't helpful. My two kiddos with dyslexia regressed in reading. After identifying concerns about the skill & training level of the teacher and the curriculum used in class, we hired a certified teacher tutor to work with him while at AFE. He needed someone who understood learning disabilities and the way he learned best to help him make meaningful progress in reading.<br><br>When choosing a school, I caution parents to look beyond what the director promises. Also, keep close financial records of any invoices and charges.<br><br>BE CAREFUL!!!!

Looove ASA Now - they have continually served us with classes like Child Behavior Development, Monthly Food Distribution and events like the Halloween trunk or Treat last year! Soo appreciative of all those involved with foster care! They have helped our family so much!

I live across the street from a drug house. The owner and his son started stalking and harassing me back in 2020 when I asked that his drug customers stop parking in my driveway. It made him angry. He went to all the neighbors and complained that I was constantly yelling at him. He then started soliciting his drugs friends to “beat my ass” “get rid of me” one of his drug customers did try to kill me at my home which resulted in he going to Canyon City Prison. The stalking then escalated with the owner and his son. The police won’t help me and say this is a civil matter. The continuous stalking and harassment isn’t civil. Worse, I’ve gone to the county judge to get a restraining order. She will not grant me one. Our community is being overtaken thanks to this judge. She releases these criminals on no bonds or PR bonds. It’s positively turned our community upside down since she took the bench in 2018. Victims are being treated as the criminals now. There is literally no escape from my neighbor and his son. The police know this guy is operating a drug house yet does nothing. There was a twice convicted pedophile living in a camp trailer on the front lawn of the drug house. I would find him in my front yard at all hours of the night. It took the chief of police, building inspector and city attorney to get rid of this guy and removed from the neighborhood. Not a few months later the owner of the drug house moved in another pedophile who approached me on July 5th this year wanting to move into my home of all things. I contacted the police and per usual they did nothing. About 2 weeks later this pedophile was arrested for forcing a 14 year old girl to preform sex acts on him. Every single day I deal with cleaning syringes and trash from my front yard. I’ve put up no trespassing signs. The owner of the drug house told me one day “I’m going to bash your f-cking brains in, I’m not even kidding anymore fat c-unt” I called the police and yet again they did nothing. He is constantly driving into my driveway and parking in front of it so I can’t get out of my driveway. I’ve begged and begged the police for help, they just keep telling me it’s civil and there is nothing they can do. I’ve reached a point of not being able to take it anymore. It’s daily from this guy. Worse, I didn’t even know who he was but when I mention his name to others they know just how insane he is. I was told once he focuses on someone he doesn’t stop until they are destroyed or have been beaten up. I was told by the police to move. It’s crazy. His drug friends have followed me around town. I’ve given the police 22 different license plate numbers, photos from my security cams, but nothing is getting done to help me. I need help! What can I do?

We have the privilege of knowing the Fisk’s personally and they run a legit non-profit. We had no idea how much time and effort goes into running a non-profit organization but it really does take a lot of blood, sweat & tears to accomplish their goals.<br><br>Obviously they cannot help everyone and they are very selective about who they assist but we have full confidence that the money we donate is used in the best way possible to help folks in need.<br><br>Steve & Leslie Slusarzyk

North American Pet Pig Association has been helping pigs and pig owners for decades. Current projects include establishing a network of veterinarians so every pig owner can access a veterinarian who treats pigs, and establishing mini pigs as household pets. Their in depth newsletter is packed with information.

I have had the privilege of visiting this work in Guatemala. What they are accomplishing is truly wonderful. They are making an amazing difference in people's lives through the use of Community Health Evangelism. I highly recommend them to you. Check them out.

I ran into the organizers at a local event where I was volunteering one day. In a short time thereafter, I was signing myself up to help out with their operations over in Gilbert. They are the coolest, nicest folks around. The ones in charge are doing an awesome job in almost every measurable way. I look forward to my time every week helping out at the ranch, and to see what antics the horses are up to. Not sure how long I will be an active part in this group, but I will for sure be a promoter and supporter of their cause.

Great Rescue run by very committed volunteers who are working very hard every weekend to find good and forever homes to countless unwanted dogs. Also, all members are foster guardians for the dogs as well, and we all know that fostering is a challenging and difficult job. The director and his right hand (Becky) are very accommodating to adopters, but also to the foster guardians of the dogs. The board of directors give the respect that foster guardians deserve by not imposing on the final decision on who should or should not adopt a dog. Nevertheless, the adoption rate of this organization is very high due to its members hard work to show animals, even if this requires driving many miles. This organization indeed serves the community.

I just newly moved to AZ and was looking for a volunteer opportunity. I found Furever Friends through Volunteer Match and from the first second I met Nancy, who owns the rescue, I knew that this was a special place. Nancy works tirelessly, her volunteers are so devoted, and the premise is so unique and needed: "What happens to my pets if something happens to me?". I love working with this organization because they are so from the ground up, they care so much about the animals they take in, and they are such a tight team and they work so well together that you can't help but love to volunteer for them. You just want to support Nancy and her mission because of everything that she puts into it.

I have volunteered with this group for the last 2 years. It is a great group of parents who have helped raise additional funds to purchase equipment for the school and provide activities for the students and families by building community. <br> <br>Even though my son has moved on to high school, I plan to volunteer my time this year since it has been a rewarding experience.

In 2006 I had the experience of a lifetime when we spent 2 weeks in Papua New Guinea. We made this trip to visit our missionary couples serving the Mibu people high atop a remote mountaintop. Prior to this trip I learned about a visit made to Joey Tartaglia by a tribesman from the Ndo peoples. They came dressed in face paint, feathers and local garb with a note written in Pidgin which said in effect, "Please send missionaries to Ndo peoples." This was very impressive to me. Then, when visiting the new church among the Mibu peoples, Joey introduced me to a man from the Ndo Village who had come to speak to them. His message: please send missionaries to the Ndo peoples. I knew this would not be me, but this message burned in my heart and I've prayed for them since. <br>I rejoice that Finisterre Vision is now sending the messengers of Christ's powerful redemptive work to these same people. <br> <br>

Widows Mite, a nonprofit developed and run with great love by Lana Hugo is what Christ is all about. Lana is energetic and interesting and wise and fun! She truly makes lemonade out of lemons....using everything she receives through donations to help someone else. It's a privilege to know her and see her in action.

An organization that understand that creating change in Southern Africa is a multi-generational effort and not a quick fix. They empower leaders to own their projects and expect the local church to be the sustaining source of hope. <br> <br>I served on a Mission Trip and left feeling that the leaders they have empowered could probably do more in my home town than the leaders who are currently serving in my community. I can't wait to see the lives that are changed through the African church. I will be back.
