Mission: Wind river bear institute seeks to reduce human-caused bear mortality and conflicts worldwide by teaching both bears and humans correct behaviors to reduce conflicts.
Programs: Bear shepherding-wildlife management and conservation program which works in the united states, canada, and japan. This program teaches bears and humans to co-exist through community outreach, securing attractants, and using karelian bear dogs to teach bears and other wildlife to keep away from public areas. An average of 400 bear actions per year, no bears, humans, or dogs harmed. Every other year we breed wildlife service dogs and place them with selected individuals.
