Willoughby animal rescue is a fantastic place to have an up close and personal experience with animals that have been rescued! It is a farm, helped to run by volunteers! You can experience all different kinds of activities caring for the animals. The whole area is beautiful! The owner does a great job, and truly cares for all the animals!!
One of the best rescue farms! The donkeys will be your best friends by the end of your visit. This is such an important rescue farm and does wonderful things for all its furry occupants
Scott Graham-Stephens shared with me about the work that Willoughby Rescue is doing. I have a great appreciation for the importance of animal rescues -- much-needed service.
Scott's attention and care for the animals is outstanding! He creates an environment where the animals can heal (if needed) and thrive. If you are close by or want to visit, he can always use another set of hands to help out too.
Love helping these wonderful farm animals have a safe and caring life after being turned over to the rescue. Giving them their forever home or rehoming them to another forever home is worth knowing they are safe. Keeping them comfortable and taking care of their needs, trimming hooves and sheering coats just to name a few items. So much help is necessary to keep this rescue running and volunteers are very important. I am thankful to be a part of this mission.
Great place to camp! I found this place through Hipcamp and just loved camping with the animals. They have space for RVs, a greenhouse for glamping, and elevated tent decks for those who want to rough it. PLUS, they offer tours (the farm rescue tour is awesome). I will be back.
Over the last five years I have spent a lot of time at Willoughby Rescue. The scenic farm, diversity of animals, and Scott’s warmth keep me coming back year after year. Whether you are heading there to volunteer and put in a hard day’s work, or to camp at one of the many decks or outlooks, you are sure to find a peaceful and adventure-filled respite from city life.
I have worked as a volunteer at Willoughby occasionally for the past 2 years or more. It was very fulfilling, and I learned a lot. If you want to work hard physically in a gorgeous part of Vermont for a good cause, and you love animals of all kinds, this is a place you should check out. I know the owner/manager, and he goes out of his way to make sure volunteers are well cared for. If you are just looking for a unique camping experience, there are several campsites there to choose from, and the fees contribute to the feeding and care of the animals.
Wiloughby Animal Rescue is a great resource for animals which, for whatever reason, need a safe, caring, environment for their continued health and existence. I have volunteered there doing construction, maintenance and landscaping work, and have seen first hand the great work that his organization does.
