Wildbird Recovery does an amazing job of caring for the animals they receive and work to educate the public about injured wildlife and the natural world in general in the process. Wonderful organization!
I found a bird hit by a car in the middle of the road. It was still very much alive and other birds were gathered around it as if to rally it. I turned around and scooped it it. I called Beth at Wildbird Recovery and was told to bring it in. As with all the injured birds that are brought to her, Beth took it in and took care of it until it was ready to be released. She's truly an angel.
Wildbird recovery is a wonderful safe haven for all songbirds (no matter the type). Beth puts her heart and soul into every bird. She is very knowledgeable. I know her personality and she has a beautiful facility for rehabbing.
I have volunteered for Wildbird Recovery for over 10 years. In that time, I have seen just about every kind of bird whose path crosses western Pennsylvania come through the door and Beth has given the best of care to each and every one. We have long conversations about what treatments are best for even the ones that no one else would give a chance to recover, hoping that they'll somehow turn around-and I'm amazed at how many of them do.
Rehabbing any animal is hard work & a 24 hour a day job. I've taken over feeding many times so that Beth could lay down for an hour after being up until 3 in the morning working on an injured or orphaned bird. We watch expenditures very carefully-and none of us gets paid, including the rehabber. We're a small non-profit, but we never stop trying to help as many birds as we can capably care for.
I'm proud to be a part of it.
I have volunteered with Wildbird Recovery for over 15 years. They are dedicated to helping wildlife to Western PA. They also provide educational programming for the community and local school groups. They are caring, helpful and willing to help! We are looking forward to our next chapter!
I have been involved with Wildbird Recovery for many years so I can personally tell you that it is an amazing organization! Beth is one of a kind and dedicates her heart and soul to every bird that comes into the facility. If there is a way for a bird to be helped, Beth will find it....and goes above and beyond to help wildlife in any way possible. WBR is run strictly off of outstanding volunteers who also dedicate themselves to help injured wildbirds in the area. I have never in my life worked with such an incredible organization that has no other gain in mind than to simply help wildlife!
