Causes: Military & Veterans Organizations, Veterans
Mission: WhiteHaven Canine’s mission is to: 1) Help you, the dog owner, to have a well-mannered pet for your home and in your community and; 2) To assist you in becoming a responsible dog owner. In addition to offering Basic & Advanced Obedience to the general public; Using rescued and donated dogs, WhiteHaven Canine trains dogs to serve as Emotional Support Animals (ESA) for veterans that need them. The ESAs are provided to the veterans at no cost to the Veteran.
Target demographics: Disabled Veterans
Direct beneficiaries per year: Over 700 Therapy Dog visits to hospitals, nursing homes, hospice units and schools
Geographic areas served: Central Texas
Programs: Emotional Support Animals (ESA-canines), Pet Therapy visits
