What an amazing place. My wife and I were walking our dog last night and witnessed a baby squirrel fall from a tall tree. The squirrel was stunned but survived the fall just fine. There were no parents to be found and a neighbor's cat was watching intently. The squirrel was much too young to survive on its own. Our own pet situation at home wouldn't allow us to properly care for the squirrel and we couldn't just leave the poor guy. After my wife called a number of vets she was given the number for this sanctuary, run by Karen. With no hesitation, Karen told us to bring the baby squirrel over. So we arrived at 9 pm in the evening and were met by Karen who assured us that she would be able to take good care of the squirrel. I know most people think of cats and dogs when it comes to animal rescue but we really appreciate that Karen looks beyond that and understands that all life is precious. We are most grateful and lucky to have found such a great sanctuary.
