Causes: Sports, Winter Sports
Mission: To foster national amateur competitions in figure skating without providing athletic facilities and equipment to members, and towards the development of competitive skaters and teams in a sportsmanship atmosphere.
Programs: Our organization fostered only national amateur competitions in figure skating. There were 20 skaters under the western michigan skating club sponsoring collegiate and senior. The teams competed in various skating and charity events. The charity events include the kalamazoo breast cancer walk in october, grand rapids tree lighting ceremony and learn to skate in december, and the wmu campus classic event. The competitions competed in included the following: dr richard porter pewter medalists, kalamazoo kick-off classic bronze medalists, mid-america championships bronze medalists, mid-western sectional championships pewter medalists, tri-state championships silver medalists, national championships 5th place.
