Causes: Children & Youth, Children & Youth Services
Mission: To provide a child-focused approach to the intervention, treatment, prevention, and prosecution of child abuse cases. To provide free therapy to child abuse victims and age appropriate awareness in our school systems.
Programs: Video testimony - child abuse victims are interviewed on videotape in a casual environment to reduce the stress associated with multiple interviews.
on-site counseling - child victims and their non-offending family members are provided counseling services at the west alabama children's advocacy center, and refered to off-site counselors as requested.
community programs - age appropriate child safety education was provided to approximately 630 elementary age school children in our area using our puppet show and other presentations.
