Programs: The Education Center at The Watson Institute is an approved private school that serves 130 children from 41 school districts on our Sewickley campus. Students range in age from 3 to 21, and have been diagnosed with autism, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, neurological impairments, brain injuries and other impairments. This program began in the early 1900s and became approved by the PA Department of Education in 1975. The Education Center staff employ a combination of nationally recognized educational techniques, including applied behavior analysis and structured teaching, based on the TEACCH model. The Education Center also has classrooms for children with brain injuries to meet their specific needs. Watson's objective is to prepare students for a successful transition to more inclusive settings whenever possible.
