Mission: Warrior creek development corporation, a non-profit organization, is passionately dedicated to the sustainable revitalization of our communities, allowing citizens to cultivate social enterprise and perpetuate quality jobs, quality homes and quality lives in mcdowell county, west virginia.
Programs: The foundation of warrior creek development is our quality jobs initiative, qji. This apprenticeship program being offered to high school graduates will not only provide them with two years of work experience, it will also allow them to earn an associates degree from southern west virginia community college. Our first qji program, beginning august 2015, will focus entirely on construction; we plan to begin a secondary qji in the food and hospitality industry beginning august 2016. Each of our current initiatives and future initiatives below connects with the foundation of the qji. Whether it is to build a home for future teachers, renovate a hotel or acquire a restaurant, these ideas all stand on creating quality jobs, building home and inspiring the quality of life for mcdowell countys current and future residents.
