To think of us on a day that changed our lives forever. Thank you for being there. I think if you weren't there and did what you did I wouldn't have felt so good about my day in Arlington National Cemetery. Thank you for thinking of the families of 8-6-11. God Bless all who were involved that day!!
This group fills out fake reviews to keep a high rating on Great Nonprofits because they haven't been reviewed by actual charity watchdogs like Charity Navigator, AIP, or BBB. They also brag about being a "Platinum" member of Guidestar, but that's meaningless, since it only requires submission of a few statements, and that doesn't even include actual financial statements. There's no evidence that they've ever completed independent audits or reviews of their finances, and according to Guidestar, they haven't even filed so much as a 990N since 2014. They also brag about having no paid staff, but when it comes to running a charity, an organization will be more successful paying experienced professionals something, than they would paying incompetent volunteers nothing.
Now, cue the fake reviews.
Exceeded my expectations. Strange to get a call from Afghanistan to speak to an advisor... haha but had no clue that these guys were mostly deployed ALL the time. WARFIGHTERS!
0310 here in Kirkuk, Iraq. Glad to know our Warfighters are looking out for our brothers back home and abroad.
One year ago, almost exactly on the day, Warfighter gave me a call that forever changed my life. I was nearly homeless after leaving the military and couldn't find a job. The advisors at Warfighter and through their combat to contracts program helped me find a career with the Department of State. Thanks fellas, if there is anything you ever need.
Let me start by saying there are many... many, many, many.... terrible charities out there that do nothing but line their pockets under the guise that they help veterans. Warfighter, is not one of them. I greatly appreciate the opportunity you gave me to volunteer recently and got to see first hand that the individuals running Warfighter (which is by no means a small charity) are also working full time jobs (most of them work as PMC's in Afghanistan and Iraq) - that in itself was commendable. The fact that these guys are using their spare time (mostly all of it) to run this amazing charity - all while being in harms way and literally dumping money of their own pockets to keep it afloat. When they told me they didn't have an office I was pretty confused, but now I completely understand. Warfighter Foundation is ran by actual Warfighters. Semper Fidelis gentlemen!
Keep doing what you are doing. There are a lot of guys out there too selfish to help or too afraid to ask for help. You guys do help, even if you have no idea.
Hoping the 100 Mile Hike comes back! The last one y'all did was amazing and I enjoyed it so much. It was awesome to get together with brothers from the vet community. But even more so, knowing that we were doing it to raise awareness of Memorial Day and to honor the men of Operation Red Wings - topping it off with ending the hike to meet the surviving family members like Patsy Dietz and then surprisingly meeting J.J. Watt as well and legendary Navy SEAL Dave Hall.
I was at your screening of "American Sniper" and WOW!!!! I had no idea that Jeff Kyle (the brother of US Navy SEAL Chris Kyle) would be there and then not only that but Debbie Lee (the mother of US Navy SEAL Marc Lee) was also there and all the donations Warfighter raised benefited Debbie's foundation!!! Like holy cow, it was absolutely amazing (and free for veterans). It was great to mingle and talk with all the veterans and so many Navy SEAL's that had known and served with Chris. Then on top of that, seeing Derek Weida from all the Mat Best videos!!! I had no idea how well connected into the veteran community the Warfighter Foundation really was, I just kind of thought you guys were a small local group but I was so wrong. This is an astounding organization and that event blew my mind!!!!
Love this charity! Very excited to see you guys in D.C.!!!
Ignore the negative comments by those cowards. The anti troop supporter liberals can only try to hurt you by leaving negative reviews haha.
The couple of people who keep repeating the negative reviews on here are dishonorable and should be ashamed of themselves. This charity is the reason why I am not a homeless veteran or have committed suicide.
Is this group even still around? I guess we'll find out if, after receiving another bad review, there are suddenly a slew of fake positive reviews to keep their meaningless "Top Rated" award from Great Nonprofits. If this organization has closed up shop, then good riddance; there are so many terrific organizations in this country that serve veterans, and Warfighter Foundation was never one of them.

TFWW 02/15/2017
Yes, Warfighter Foundation is still around! Sorry, we have no "fake" reviews, the reviews are usually around the same frequency as the time of the request for reviews. Generally, if we ask our supporters to give us reviews they usually do so within 24 hours of the request. Warfighter Foundation is a Guide Star Platinum for transparency, higher than a majority of charities, as well as being one of a few charities that operates with no paid positions (all volunteer). We apologize for your disappointment and hurt feelings. Maybe there is a good charity you can find that can help heal your sadness and anger. At the top of this page is a search option, perhaps start with a search for an LGBT organization. Thanks!
I am amazed at how much you have accomplished. The article about Chris Kyle is what brought me to you!
Exceptional work, I absolutely am so effin excited for what WF will bring to the table in the next few years!
Thank you for letting us help with your charity event last year! The screening of American Sniper with the teams and families was amazing! Jeff Kyle and Debbie Lee being there made it exceptional.
Their Facebook has been a continued source of therapy. Sounds funny, but they have allowed me to speak on a national level about my concerns.
This organization is an embarrassment to our country. As a white American who has family full of military veterans, I do not believe this organization represents whites, veterans OR any Americans in a positive way at all. In fact, it is spreading hate and promoting racism nationwide. This organization makes me feel ashamed to be an employed white American in today's society.

TFWW 02/15/2017
Our organization does not represent "whites". We represent combat veterans and as a charity with a national platform we have an obligation to speak out against violence against the United States and our service members.
Thank you so much for helping my family. I cannot begin to express our gratitude for your continued support. Just to summarize for anyone reading this, in 2013 I lost my lower leg to an IED in Afghanistan. As soon as I was back in the United States, receiving medical treatment, my family wanted to come to the hospital and be with me. DOD was taking too long to get them a flight and accommodations, so the Warfighter Foundation provided them with a flight and lodging until DOD could provide support. Within 48 hours of my landing in the US, my family was at my bedside. I contribute my quick recover 100% to the Warfighter Foundation.
Experience has taught us that when you invest in building great nonprofit leadership you invest in building a stronger community. This is exactly what the Warfighter Foundation has accomplished.
I have over twenty-five years of experience in working with public and private nonprofit organizations in the areas of organizational development, planning, collaboration, and securing and managing grants. The Warfighter Foundation has my full dedication.

If you have worked in the for-profit and nonprofit sectors, you know they are quite different; each having its own culture, vernacular, and business practices. The Warfighter Foundation brings an incredible approach to philanthropy. Although charitable contributions keep the organization alive, they do not focus on fundraising and rather focus completely on their mission. I am proud to work with this organization!
- Planned Giving Design Center, the world's largest community of planned giving professionals
Warfighter utilizes several incredible methods to allow veterans to express their views. The supposed "NPO Professional" has no idea what he is talking about. This organization has served at the pinnacle of serving combat veterans. God bless the Warfighter Foundation!
I have been an entrepreneur, business owner, investor, speaker, business coach and tax expert for the past 27 years. We have worked with a Nobel Prize winner, a 4-time Olympic champion, a Grammy nominated rap artist, a United Nations Representative, a 17 year old high school student with brain cancer and an 82 year old Ph.D. research scientist.
- Non Profit Advisor Group (nonprofitadvisor.org)
The stated purpose of the group is apparently: "to empower combat veterans and their families through physical, mental, and emotional rehabilitation."
However, this group doesn't appear to serve any other purpose than as the sounding board of its founder and Executive Director's (ED) personal political and social beliefs. The following is an excerpt from a December 4, 2014 blog post to the organization's wordpress account, which includes a sample of the founder's personal, prejudiced beliefs:
"We allow the minority to dictate what is wrong and right when it comes to the First Amendment. The use of the “N” word is fine if you are black, but it is wrong if you are white. Protesting military funerals is fine, blocking highways because of a thug named Trayvon is fine, gay pride parades completely nude are fine; but God forbid those [expletive] veterans go to D.C. and ask to be treated fairly!" (Please note this is a very short excerpt of the bile available on the organization's social media outlets).
Aside from the ED's profound misunderstanding of the Constitution, his personal prejudices, and overall unpleasantness, it is most important to note that such statements and social media activities are wildly unprofessional, as it serves no purpose to further the organization's mission. Whether or not one agrees with the founder's personal views is less of an issue than that he has demonstrated a clear lack of judgment in publicly expressing his own personal beliefs on issues completely unrelated to the mission of the organization, as a representative of the organization.
Update: As is SOP for this organization, after receiving a negative review, they have attempted to counter with contrary ratings in order to keep a high rating on GreatNonProfits. It's important to note that 3 of the most recent positive reviewers were left by organizations and companies that receive fees for service, and most likely have a relationship with the organization in which they receive compensation.

The "WARFIGHTER" blog has many veterans that contribute and has been featured in national media. Yes, the CEO is a contributor to the blog and in addition he is a US Marine combat veteran. Under the "ABOUT" section on the blog, you can find the purpose of the blog: "Warfighter is part of the Warfighter Foundation. It is a means for people to connect and relate to our nations combat veterans and their families." The blog is a key element that allows combat veterans and their families to tell their stories and share their views. We appreciate your feedback, but we are not going to apologize because our blog hurt your feelings. Our organization attracts two types of people: combat veterans and anti-military. It is very apparent what your views are and what your objective is.
Absolutely wonderful organization! I will continue to contribute my support as often as possible. One of the most transparent and honest non-profits I have ever worked with!
100 Mile Hike volunteer here, thank you for what you guys do for our veterans! I am SO proud to have participated in the 100 Mile Hike with y'all! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Found out about you guys from The Blaze and noticed you in the Huffington Post as well. Seems like you are really reaching out and doing a lot for veterans! Thank you!
I always donate to organizations I can trust and provide 100% transparency. The Warfighter Foundation is a Gold Participant on Guidestar.org and that means they have my trust because they have proven they are accountable and transparent. We have to support small charities like Warfighter Foundation who are making such a huge impact!
Cranky old Vietnam jarhead, involved in volunteer work with our wounded "kids". Took me a bit to warm up to this bunch of folks... but now consider them to be my main social media family. God bless, Semper Fi
The 100 Mile Hike that came through Houston was absolutely incredible to witness! It sure did raise awareness of Memorial Day and definitely made me feel a little guilty for BBQ'n, but I believe that was the point. Right after they passed, I put up all the flags I had and we even held a moment of silence for all the fallen troops as well as a toast. If it was not for them, it would've been just another BBQ on Memorial Day.
I attended the 2013 private screening the Warfighter Foundation did of the film Lone Survivor. It was amazing to see a charity offer something like that for free for veterans and their families. I took a group of my buddies and some family to the private screening. Also, it was extra special to see the guest speakers like retired Navy SEAL Jason Redman and GSM Debbie Lee, as well as the special messages from the families of Operation Red Wings. What an event! Hope they do something like that again!
This is to ricks1 comment/review. The Charity is very professional and it is hardly believable that they would have ever told you anything negative. The Board Chair can serve as the Executive Director, so long as there is no conflict of interest. The Warfighter Foundation has no paid positions, so there is no conflict of interest. This is basic knowledge within the non-profit community and does not violate any IRS Code.
The organization sponsored a Co-Founder as an athlete and at the time of his sponsorship, he was not on the Board or Staff. He was simply a veteran who needed help raising awareness about his endeavors as an athlete, which he was running to raise awareness of veteran suicide. Warfighter does this for many veteran athletes and it requires no funds. That was the extent of the sponsorship.
You can visit www.warfighterfoundation.org to view a list of the current Board and Staff.
Additionally, the Warfighter Foundation is a Guidestar Gold participant. It would've taken you a simple Google search to realize that. Here is the link: http://www.guidestar.org/organizations/46-3074674/warfighter-foundation.aspx
The organization has filed its annual 990 report. You may need to Google that as well.
First off this charity told me to go "f" myself. I have messages from the Board Chair and Executive Director...who is one in the same, which is illegal to the IRS. Second off they sponsored their co founder as an athlete. That is another violation of IRS standards because a staff or board member can not be compensated other than budgeted salaries. Thirdly they post the most horrible things on social media and curse all the time. No financials yet they claim to be Guidestar gold.

TFWW 09/13/2014
The Board Chair can serve as Executive Director so long as there is no Conflict of Interest. A Conflict of Interest would arise if the Executive Director was voting on the Board to determine levels of compensation, but there are no paid positions per the Warfighter Foundation ByLaws and Articles of Incorporation, so there is no Conflict of Interest. The Co-Founder who became a sponsored athlete was not a Board Member or part of the Staff at the time of his sponsorship. Additionally, the sponsored athlete received no funds. The Warfighter Foundation is a Guide Star Gold participant. Here is the link: http://www.guidestar.org/organizations/46-3074674/warfighter-foundation.aspx The organization has filed its annual 990 report (as required by law by the IRS) and it is public. Our social media is administrated mainly by mothers and wives of fallen service members. It is doubtful that they would post anything derogatory or distasteful. As always, the organization is conducting itself professionally and legally. We appreciate your feedback!
I am honored, grateful and humbled to be part of The Warfighter Foundation, along side of several other combat veteran Marines. The Warfighter Foundation has given me the chance give back to those who continue to serve and go downrange and fight all in the name of Liberty and Freedom. I made myself a promise a long time ago that before I got out of the military, I would do whatever I can, as long as I can stand on my own two feet, to help my fellow military brethren in whatever ways possible. I am very excited to see how far we can raise the bar and push the envelope with our upcoming events. There's a phrase that goes, "the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." and I think it fits all too perfectly with our main mission. I am damn proud to be a Warfghter! God bless our nations Warfighters! Semper Fidelis
I have followed Warfighter Foundation since the beginning. They have definitely done everything they promised and more. In todays world, it is hard to choose a veterans charity to trust, but they have my trust.
The Warfighter Foundation is one of those veteran organizations that you know is doing a positive thing for all warriors. They have the right mindset and vision to continue to empower combat veterans to do great things.
The Warfighter Foundation has an excellent team of individuals dedicated to a focused cause, helping our combat heroes in any way they possibly can. Their following on social media has grown into more of a family who is always active and supportive of anything they do. This is essential for a non-profit because it allows them to give back to organizations who donate to them in the form of exposure. The Warfighter Foundation has not only gained the trust of the military community but also their respect, it is for this reason they will prove to be a vital component in helping our Veterans and reducing the national suicide average that is currently at 22 per day.
I have worked with many veteran organizations in the past, but Warfighter Foundation by far is the only organization that is doing it right! Semper Fi!
I volunteered during the 2nd Annual 100 Mile Hike in memory of Operation Red Wings. It was such an incredible experience to walk with such heroes and for an amazing cause - to raise awareness of Memorial Day! I will be sticking by Warfighter Foundation! By the way, I drove all day and night from Louisiana to participate!
I saw their post on The Blaze and Fox & Friends among other news outlets. I am very impressed with their honesty and courage.
Great non - profit to work with. Down to earth people who are easy to communicate with. I love the assistance they provide to veterans and their families.
I have had the honor to serve on the Board of Directors with the Warfighter Foundation since co-founding the organization with several other combat veteran Marines. The Warfighter Foundation has helped me heal from my own wounds through the power of philanthropy. My experiences with all of our events have surpassed all my greatest accomplishments. I am proud to be a Warfghter and so thankful for the support we have been show! God bless our nations Warfighters!

TFWW 09/13/2014 Thank you so much for your feedback and support! It was an honor to support you and the other families. We will return every year!
