Programs: Curation and conservation:the foundation preserves and prepares objects from the collection for presentation and interpretation at the walt disney family museum and for loans to other institutions. The curation and conservation of the collection's art, ephemera, and memorabilia to insure the safety and longevity of the objects is an ongoing mission of the foundation. Acquisition of new collection items:the foundation continues the goal of acquiring artifacts through contributions and purchases to enrich the collections and, as a result, enhance the opportunities to present the story of walt disney, his artists and their creations. In 2017, approximately 96 items were added to the collection through purchases and 216 items were acquired through contributions.
