Nonprofit Overview
Mission: Walking Wild Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit located in central Ohio and the largest captive bred fox rescue in the US. We rescue and provide a safe haven for captive bred fox and other non-wild animals that are in need of a place to call home. Our foxes are surrendered to us from the fur trade, were purchased as pets, but owners realize a fox isn't a good fit for them or life changes occur or are illegally owned, abused or neglected. All the animals that find refuge here at Walking Wild are captive bred. This means they are not wild animals and are generations removed from any wild animal. Not only is releasing a captive bred animal illegal, it is a death sentence as they don't have the instincts to survive and can create a very negative impact on their wild cousins. All the animals here at Walking Wild are living their best life in an environment tailored to their specific needs to ensure they stay happy and healthy!
