Mission: Waccamaw community foundation's mission is to connect donors with causes they care about.
Programs: Grantmaking - our grantmaking spans the community's broadest areas, from arts and culture to community development, and provides critical operational and programmatic support for the network of nonprofit activities in our 9-county service area and beyond. In 2017, the waccamaw community foundation dispersed 485 grants and scholarships totaling $1,740,879. These grants were distributed as follows: 128 grants totaling $414,501 supporting various educational pursuits, 43 grants totaling $160,650 supporting neighborhood & community development, 91 grants totaling $320,433 supporting human needs, 30 grants totaling $67,166 supporting environmental efforts, 75 grants totaling $255,176 supporting health initiatives, and 110 grants totaling $367,396 in support of religious organizations, 14 grants totaling $53,146 in support of the arts, and 8 grants totaling $102,411 for other philanthropic efforts.
