Voices of Women is based in San Diego. Annually the organization donates time and funds to other nonprofits. These include the Daraja Academy for Girls in Kenya, The Tomorrow Project (for homeless women) in San Diego, and United Women of East Africa Support Team (refugee women from Africa who are residents of San Diego). We also stage a Benefit annually at which we donate a sizable contribution to a nonprofit. In 2013, this charity was The Cesar Chavez Service Clubs. In addition, VOW hosts bimonthly educational programs that focus on "hot spots" in our global community. For example, most recently we addressed Syria and the situation in the Middle East. We partner with UNA-SD, the Joan B.Kroc Institute for Peace & Justice, and other prominent human rights organizations in San Diego.

Voices of Women organizes informative sessions about attempts to keep peace in the world and about situations where such attempts are sorely needed. They support educational efforts internationally and locally and work with a solid base of dedicated volunteers.

Voices of Women (VOW) is an amazing organization that has been supporting efforts to empower women and children locally, nationally and globally for over 10 years. The work VOW does in educating others on the power of educating girls has made a tremendous difference in their lives. For example, VOW has supported Josephine, a Kenyan girl to get a secondary education. If VOW had not done this, she would not have had the opportunity to attend school.
Her goal now is to become a peacemaker in her country.
In conjunction with other non- profits, VOW has produced, organized and facilitated over 70 powerful educational programs motivating others to become involved.
I'm proud to be involved with an organization that makes such a difference!

Voices of Women is an organization of dedicated volunteers who promote a broader understanding of international issues especially as they relate to women and children. We know education is the key to a better life for women and children of the world. We present programs, organize workshops and other events to highlight important issues and encourage action in support of progress. In addition, we donate to organizations that align with our mission.

Voices of Women focuses on educating people about national and international issues that relate to the empowerment of women and children. Voices of Women also gives a monetary award every year to a non-profit that meshes with VOW's mission. This all volunteer non-profit supports efforts to give voice to women all over the world. Other than minor administration costs, all funds go directly to these efforts. This is a great organization that welcomes anyone's attendance and support. natalieg

As an all-volunteer organization, Voices of Women is able to make the donor's dollar go far. Through research and lots of communication with nonprofits that we support, we are able to find wonderful groups making a difference to women and children's lives worldwide.

Voices of Women (VOW) focuses on educating and supporting programs that empower women and children here in the U.S. and internationally. One of the many great things about VOW is you can be confident any money donated goes directly to our programs. We help support a school for girls in Kenya, the Daraja Academy, and offer assistance to The Tomorrow Project which helps homeless women right here in San Diego. We are a small, all-volunteer board and yet we make a big impact. In our thirteen years, we have produced over 75 educational events in San Diego that raise awareness to current issues impacting us all. We believe being educated in turn leads to positive action. We are passionate and committed to our mission and are proud of the difference we are making!

I love the work Voices of Women (VOW) is doing both in San Diego and around the world for women and children! This is a rare find in a charity in that they donate to other non-profits, and really do the work to educate the communnity. I have loved my time spent on the board. I can truly say that every dollar donated to VOW goes back to those in need. What an amazing charitable organization!

i like Voices of Women because they produce and support local and global programs that educate, uplift, and empower women and children per their mission statement. I like their programs which are free, provocative, and timely; especially those related to human rights and world events in particular. In addition they support the Daraja school for girls in Kenya, work with local women refugees from East Africa, and recognize other non-profit organizations through their annual awards program. ALL funds raised by VOW go directly to support their programs and all board members are volunteers. Voices of Women is unique in it's focus on educating our community and others at no cost, often by partnering with other organizations.
