Thankful for Vintage Paws Sanctuary. It is a wonderful, much needed place for senior pets needing homes with loving, caring volunteers.

Vintage Paws is an incredible organization taking in the old and decrepit digs that few other rescues would even consider. I have followed them over the years and I go to the same vet as they use. They spare nothing when it comes to taking care of the animals they take on. An animal rescued by them could not ask for a better future. I recently fostered Dory, a fospice dog, for them and I recommend anyone interested in fostering to contact Vintage Paws. I have fostered for many rescues over the years and Vintage Paws was amazing to foster for. They supply absolutely everything and respond immediately if you have a question or concern.
Vintage Paws Sanctuary, an oasis of love, joy, safety, support, devotion and caring for Seniors left behind. They walk a difficult road and do so with grace and kindness. From the first time I watched Amy walk toward me with my handsome boy cradled in her arms to the tears of goodbye from your staff, I was surrounded by peace. Yogi and I will be forever grateful and never forget that amazing April morning. The Yog and I are slowing down a bit --but we are still best buddies. Having volunteered at Vintage Paws for two years, I have seen, first hand, how a neglected, sick senior dog has been transformed into a happy, outgoing dog through the love and medical care provided by Jenn , her team and generous vets. I have adopted two dogs from Vintage Paws. My 17-year old blind Dauchshund and 15-year old deaf Shitzu are wonderful, loving companions that bring me great joy!
This wonderful rescue fills a particular niche in our animal friendly area. I hold a yard sale each year (but for pandemic April 2020) to raise $ and awareness for Vintage Paws

They fill a much needed gap in the world of animal rescue as most rescues won't even accept and support senior animals, but Vintage Paws does! We love Vintage Paws because we believe as they do, Old Dogs Rock! When we started supporting Vintage Paws we thought we would like to foster senior dogs, but then Olive came up for adoption and we fell in love at first sight. We wanted to make the last few years of Olive's life the best she's ever had. That's also the goal of Vintage Paws, to give senior dogs a good home for whatever days they have left or as they put it, Silver Linings for Silver Paws. We can't image our lives without Olive and we will be forever grateful to Vintage Paws for saving Olive from the streets so we could adopt her and give her a furever home.
The Bridge Tender Inn has been working with Vintage Paws for 7+years. Some of us here have had a senior dog at one time or another. One year when we were giving our yearly donation, Jennifer brought by a couple of dogs, in desperate need of surgery. Gizmo & his buddy are the most memorable. Both dogs were in desperate need of surgery. Donations are what saved these dogs. People who work there are such kind and caring souls.They take care of dogs who have lost their people through no fault of their own They need not only money but people to take for walks and trips in the car. I have volunteered at Vintage Paws for 6 years and fostered a senior dog, Anna, for 5 years who passed in June. Jennifer Hummel who owns Vintage Paws only takes in dogs who are 10 years and older. Large, med and small. She knows they still have a lot of life left. They go to specialists, get medicines, Vet care, best food and grooming until they pass. Sometimes this is the first real care they are getting . A very expensive endeavor .These dogs would be euthanized else where. They are all treated with respect and love. All are special here!
This is an amazing charity. When you walk in, there are many furry angels behind the desk, many with disabilities. I sense their comfort and gratitude for being in a secure loving atmosphere. There do not seem to be any signs of resignation or desperation - they rest, play with toys and seem at peace. Staff members do not hesitate to visit with and enjoy these little dears and are familiar with the personality of each waif. What a wonderful respite for these abandoned little ones. I'm so grateful they exist.
Vintage Paws Sanctuary saves the lives of senior dogs, many of whom would otherwise be euthanized. Sick, abused, broken in spirit, surrendered by owners who discard them, these seniors find hope, love, safety and a place to finish out their lives in peace.

Vintage paws does a wonderful job helping senior dogs in our community. These dogs deserve to live out their lives in a loving environment and that is exactly what Vintage Paws does for them.
This is the only sanctuary I am aware of in the Sarasota area that "caters" to older pets whose owners have died or whose owners have had to give them up because they are no longer able to take care of them and either takes good care of them or tries to find them foster or permanent homes.
I became familiar w/Vintage Paws when I was volunteering at Manatee Animal Services in Bradenton, FL. There was a very old pittbull mixed that was brought into the shelter. It was obvious he wasn't care for probably ever in his life. Due to their generosity they were willing to take on his case and pay for all of his medical needs for remainder of his life. Even though I fostered him for the remaining years of his life. He wouldn't of been able to experience living in a home and finally receiving love for the first time in his life if it wasn't for Vintage Paws. They are an amazing and wonderful organization that cares for senior dogs no matter how much medical care they need.
Was blessed to have Dixie for awhile, she was such a sweet and kind dog with a loving soul. The staff were continually supportive, upbeat, responsive, caring and provided all the needed resources to make Dixie’s time with me, a true blessing each day.
This organization really cares for it's residents...they are caring and very dedicated...I think they should win because they deserve it
Vintage Paws is an amazing charity that saves senior dogs and connects them with loving homes! My “heart dog” Stuart Little was from Vintage Paws and I cannot be more grateful for them saving him and introducing us. He was 13 when I got him and 18.5 when he passed in April of 2019. I miss him every day and will always donate to Vintage Paws in his memory to help carry on their Mission!
Wonderful, caring, quality nonprofit - I've volunteered as a foster for a hospice senior, and Vintage Paws does everything they promise, then some! They take on the ones others pass by. I am a regular donor, and will continue.
I have adopted 2 senior dogs and volunteered for this amazing nonprofit. I also trust them to take care of my pets when I go out of town.
Vintage Paws Sanctuary is such a fantastic place. I went on a tour of the facility and they are super loving and very clean! Absolutely love them and I feel happy donating $ to them!
Vintage Paws is the best thing that ever happened for senior dogs in Florida! Most of these needy seniors and up in loving foster homes for the reminder of their lives where they are treated with the care and respect they deserve. But even the ones with serious health issues or are otherwise handbrake enjoy a wonderful caring life right at the Vintage Paws shelter or at the founders lovely home. All get wonderful health care,and lots of love and attention. It truly is a wonderful dog's life!
This is a wonderful rescue, I love what they do for animals. I am so glad that they help the senior dogs, and take them in, if something happens to their owners. I just wish I could do what they do. There is a special place in Heaven, for people who do this for a living. God Bless All Of Them.
Our little senior Stuart, adapted my daughter 6 years ago at Vintage Paws. He was 13 years young!
I like to believe we gave Stuie the Best, of the rest of his life.
He loved my daughter with every ounce of his little 5# being. And she loved him with all her heart.
As time went on Stuart grew blind, but knew the minute my daughter walked in the door, his tiny nose would start twitching. She smelled just like Love to him.
A year ago this past April Stuie crossed the Rainbow Bridge at the age of almost 19.
My God how we miss that little man.
The entire time we had Stuart, Vintage paws would ask about him and were saddened by his passing.
We live in another area from Sarasota, and there is no other place quite like Vintage Paws. I cant say enough about them and recommend often.
By the way, Stuart taught us so much about Love, we rescued 3 more dogs; Gracie, Max and Henry.
I have been in the office on numerous occasions to witness the care of the "senior" dogs and cats. Perhaps because I, too, am a senior and sensitive to care of the elderly that I am so pleased that this charity has chosen the older end of the age spectrum. To see the obvious infirmities of the animals and watch them interact with each other deriving pleasure and comfort by doing so is a total joy. So few of the older animals get forever homes because with age comes medical expenses and the need for more care and attention. Many of these much loved pets have lost their owners through death or hardship and this charity eases that loss and provides a safe and loving transition. My contributing to this kindness makes me feel really good.
This is a very committed team focused on the well being of older pups. They ensure those pups getting a new home are going to the right person who knows how to love and care for them. My parents were able to take home a vintage pup and give her a new lease on life for last few years.
I was introduced to Vintage Paws when I purchased a piece of glass art from a glass artist who donates the proceeds from some of his spectacular stained glass pieces in order to benefit Vintage Paws. Having been a dog owner (adopting rescues) for most of my life, I know Vintage Paws is filling a crucial need for pets whose owners become unable to care for them. They are taking in the most "un-adoptable" fur babies and giving them a chance to live out the balance of their lives with love, medical care and dignity. FIVE stars to Vintage Paws (who also take the time to send handwritten notes to thank donors!! - AMAZING!)
Vintage Paws Sanctuary is an amazing non profit devoted to saving the lives of senior dogs who have been surrendered through no fault of their own. In addition, Vintage Paws has just started a program to provide senior pet owners who are in financial need to deliver pet food so they are not in danger of losing their devoted pets.
They care about the old, infirm, neglected and abandoned dogs that deserve to be loved in their golden years. We have fostered three pups for Vintage Paws and will continue to support them!
I’ve worked with Vintage Paws for several years and so admire the mission of this organization and its owner JENNIFER. We have adopted a blind terrier mix dog from her and he is just the sweetest thing. We currently foster another very special 4 pound Chihuahua. Vintage paws kept these babies and others alive and provide them with love, medical care, and hope during their golden years when otherwise they likely would have been put down. Love Vintage Paws❤️
At a very sad time in my life after my therapy dog of 17 yrs passed away,,, Vintage Paws and our little angel Daisy who we adopted at Vintage Paws.,,, Made all tne difference in making me at peace again. Daisy was neglected so severely that she was blind. deaf. And mute. And yet she went to us with the kindest loving soul ever!!! She made us want to smile again and be her Therapy Humans,,,Jennifer and Cam and Jennifer,s staff embraced us with respect and care when we reached out to their organization, Jennifer even made time to meet us on a Saturday morning on the day we drove 3 hrs to get our special angel...Daisy passed away recently due to elderly issues after 2 years of love and cuddles and caring and happiness for us and her...i highly recommend Vintage Paws. I have volunteered at this sanctuary. Old dogs are provided loving care until they can find homes. Some live out their final years experiencing love, care, and attention. I was fortunate enough to volunteer to "cuddle" the senior dogs for a couple hours a week until covid. I hope to return to that. I also donate because medical care for senior dogs can be so expensive. The staff does a marvelous job providing homes and loving care for senior pets.
They are the only group in the area that looks after elderly pets and makes sure that they are taken care of and adopted by the forever home for these pests. They also work to give these animals time with others for bringing happiness and companionship to both pets and humans.
This is an amazing organization that helps senior abandoned dogs. No matter the medical state, they go out of their way to help their rescues recover, are comfortable and adopt is available.
Vintage Paws is a Heaven on Earth .
They provide a loving environment, the best heath care,safety and so much love to many old souls that find themselves alone and homeless at the end of their life.

Vintage Paws does amazing work! We are so happy and proud to partner as fosters for this wonderful dog rescue. I first caught a glimpse of their program when we boarded our dogs for a couple days. I was so impressed! I love this organization and what they do. They are a beautiful resource and hope for senior dogs.
Vintage Paws saves older dogs that have been abandoned or released by owner. They work endlessly to give them a loving home for their remaining days.
This donation is made in the name of our Yogi Bear, soft coated wheaten terrier that would have been 14 July 21. We love and miss him.
Vintage Paws Sanctuary is such a wonderful rescue. Our first encounter with them was rescuing an 11yo German Shepherd Dog, Brinks, whose caretaker had passed and the family put him into a shelter. Jen Hummel pulled him, then another volunteer transported him and I forever fostered until Brinks crossed the rainbow bridge. He was a wonderful pup. We now have two forever foster pups, one 18 and one 11+. This organization cares about the dogs, their volunteers, and the foster parents. I highly recommend Vintage Paws and hope you join us in saving our seniors because #olddogsrock!
Vintage Paws is such a wonderful senior dog sanctuary in our community. I have had the pleasure of being a board member, volunteer and forever foster to many Vintage Paws senior dogs. The forever foster program is a one of kind program designed to get dogs into homes while the rescue continues to provide medical and vet financials through end of life. This works perfect for my family! We have the time and room to welcome a Senior dog into our home but don’t have the finances to care for those senior dogs. With this program, we have welcomed 5 different seniors into a home setting while Vintage Paws continued to pay for all vet and medical care. It’s a win win for the rescue and dog. We have been delighted to have such wonderful senior dogs enter our homes and heart and see them through end of life. Thank you Vintage for saving dogs from the county shelters and for going above and beyond with them, providing them a home or sanctuary though end of life. Vintage Paws truly does provide senior dogs their second chance at life. Hands down our favorite rescue!
Vintage Paws does amazing work saving, rehabbing and loving senior pups! We forever fostered a sweet senior schnauzer named Kramer through them. Vintage Paws took care of all of his medical needs as well as all the costs to keep him thriving while living with congestive heart failure. We were so blessed to get to help give this boy the end of life that he deserved and Vintage Paws was who made it possible! They save so many pups all the time and bring awareness to the need for people to love and rescue senior pups who are just waiting and hoping for their happily ever afters! Can’t speak highly enough of this senior dog sanctuary!
