Mission: Village academy, a pre-kindergarten through grade twelve college preparatory school, offers gifted, talented, passionate students the opportunity to pursue their passions and interests in an engaging and challenging educational environment. Personalized and individualized attention is a hallmark of the village academy program. Highly qualified teachers and staff help each student individually achieve their highest levels of success academically, athletically, socially, and culturally. Village academy graduates are prepared for the scope of challenges presented in higher education and those associated with becoming a compassionate citizen of the world.
Programs: At village academy, students are challenged based on their strengths and passions. Unique courses and independent studies are designed according to the expressed interest of the students. Outside of the academic day, village academy students take part in a number of award-winning clubs and organizations, performance ensembles, and athletics, where they have successfully competed in regional, state, national, and international competitions. Students also collaborate with industry professionals while participating in internships and other programs such as the prestigious borlaug-ruan international internship, the national junior science and humanities symposium in washington dc, and intel international science and engineering fair. Students are not limited to participation in one activity or club, but are encouraged to explore a variety of interests, which helps them to discover their passions. The 20 students in the class of 2017 received scholarship offers in the sum of $4,563,084. Village academy's 2017 class also boasts 3 national merit scholarship commended students, 1 national merit scholarship finalist, 8 ap scholars with distinction, 5 ap scholars with honor, and 7 ap scholars. The total school ap score average was 3. 86 out of a possible 5. Our exemplary and accomplished faculty continue to hone their own professional skills by participating in graduate research projects over the summer, actively pursuing publication of original works, directing and acting in professional ensembles, and integrating technology to improve teaching and learning in the classroom.
