physical therapy - our licensed physical therapists use the variable rhythmic and repetitive movement of the horse to simulate healthy pelvis movement in humans. The sensory input provided by the horse helps to increase or restore the balance, coordination, flexibility, strength and/or endurance of patients. Partnered with the treatment strategies of the physical therapist and your physician's prescribed treatment goals, physical therapy on horseback offers an alternative approach to improving mobility.
counseling and other - equine assisted counseling is a uniquely therapeutic approach to counseling that integrates the healing spirit of the horse with traditional counseling skills. Sessions are facilitated by master level and/or licensed mental health counselors and qualified equine professionals. With the guidance of our treatment team, you will learn to understand and communicate with your chosen horse. Our equine companions offer immediate, honest and unbiased feedback as you interact with them and begin to increase your awareness of your own thoughts, feelings, words, and actions. This experiential treatment approach provides you opportunities to enhance self-awareness and repattern unhealthy behaviors, feelings and attitudes.
