Mission: The mission of VETS - Beyond the Uniform is to reduce the high numbers of unemployed & underemployed veterans and military spouses, by providing them with the additional skills & certifications to empower a successful journey into the civilian workforce, and to mentor employers in the creation of veteran friendly organizations.
Results: VETS – Beyond The Uniform serves all active duty, veterans, and military spouses. The value of our program is being increasingly recognized by veteran and labor organizations, and the Department of Labor is sending us veterans and military spouses from over 80 military installations from around the globe. The following metrics support our perspectives that our program has already made a positive impact on veterans and military families: - We have provided services to over 1000 veterans and military spouses since our inception. - The number of applicants wanting to participate in our coaching, mentoring, and training services are tenfold of what we originally estimated, which is a very good problem to have as it validates the need for what we offer. - All 5 District Supervisors on the San Diego Board of Supervisors proclaimed that “every day” during the month of September be known as VETS – Beyond The Uniform Day as an acknowledgment for the work that we have accomplished. - VETS – Beyond The Uniform is the entry point to strengthen The Rosies Network’s Service2CEO program by providing coaching, mentoring, and professional skills workshops in the areas including Administration, Human Resources, Sales Skills, Entrepreneurship, etc.) We have provided coaching and training services to over 300 new entrepreneurs in 2023. - VETS – Beyond The Uniform provides Coaching, Mentoring and Entrepreneurship skills training for the Woman’s Veteran Alliance top entrepreneur candidates. - VETS – Beyond The Uniform works with other veteran programs such as Zero8hundred, Hire Heroes, Veterans Ascend, Wounded Warrior, and VANC, to list only a few of our partners. - VETS – Beyond The Uniform’s one-week project management workshop has been accredited by Excelsior University for 4 transferable college credits, which is typically unheard of for a 45-hour program. - A single social media post for our no-cost Project Management certification course with only 10 available seats received over 250 applications within a 48-hour period. - We currently have over 9,000 followers on our social medial platforms. - 100% of our survey respondents feel that the follow-on one-on-one skills assessment review to be highly valuable. - 100% of our survey respondents feel that there is a great value in our program and want to take ongoing services. - 100% of our survey respondents feel that our program provides the additional skills to support career success. - 90% of our survey respondents feel the assessment provided information that could have been utilized in their military career. We have experienced a very high level of success with our program and expect it to continue.

Programs: The program offers various no-cost services such as skills assessments, coaching, mentoring, access to over 220 workshops, along with resume writing & employment referrals to help veterans and military spouses acquire the necessary skills and certifications needed to succeed in civilian careers, whether it be as employees, employers, or entrepreneurs.
