Causes: Automotive Safety, Disaster Aid
Mission: The vermont highway safety alliance is a network of like-minded private and public organizations working together to collect, share and use data to develop highway safety strategies integrating: road engineering and infrastructure; law enforcement and emergency medical services; and education and outreach.
Programs: The organization continued to collect, share and use data to develop highway safety.
during 2017 the organization conducted research in the areas of intersection safety for all roadway users, increased awareness and safety of bicyclists and pedestrians at intersections through engineering, education and enforcement programs. The organization continued to improve signal operation and to implement low-cost safety improvements on all public highways, including highway delineation and roadway characteristics. The organization continued to support municipalities in mitigating high crash locations by providing data, countermeasure alternatives and other resources to implement improvements.
