This is a great cause and im honored to support it! Wish there were more organizations like this, my family and i love to stand behind our vets. God bless.
Spent time with Chris, and steve... It was a very relaxing time, the 1st night of the clinic I slept the best I had in ages!
The Veteran Barn Door Project is an amazing organization. They have an all volunteer staff that is committed to bringing horsemanship clinics to Veterans across the United States. The changes I have witnessed in Veterans after they complete a clinic is truly Heartwarming.
I’ve been volunteering with Veteran Barn Door Project for almost a year and a half now and cannot share enough good things about the organization. Working with the organization has allowed me to see how much they impact the lives of others and in such a short amount of time. They treat me like family and are more than just a non profit to me. I can’t express my love and passion for VBPD enough. Growing up with military family and around animals allowed me to find the best of both passions and causes in this organization and I am beyond thankful for how much they’ve impacted my life.
A learning experience unlike none other. Steve and his staff were so helpful and compassionate, with the desire to help the vets in whatever troubled situation they found themselves in. In particular we (I) saw an increase in self confidence. Working with the horses was the key...it was an amazing effort and experience!
This was a great event. With short notice tgere I think everything went well. Even with fighting the rain. Next time just more literature to be able to get more information out for clients.
This is an outstanding program. Being a Veteran, Mr. Depalma has the horse knowledge along with the ability to connect with the Veteran. Which helps greatly in working with each Veteran. I can't say enough good things. There just isn't enough time, or space here! Don't pass the chance to attend or support the Veteran Barn Door project!
Thank you for the invitation on March 9th, 2019 at the Clinic at the Veteran Barn Door Project and be treated like family and be with Battle Brothers War Veterans. The Clinic focuses on PTSD and Combat Veterans that suffered thru Trauma. The Clinic was very educational and reforming. I was only there for two hours and within that time period, I felt I was becoming more rational and better about myself. It was a very powerful experience and it helps tremendously. I recommend for all Veterans thats suffers from PTSD to reach out and participate in the #VETERANBARNDOORPROJECT
The nonprofit is using horsemanship to teach people about themselves.

gain the trust of the horses. Once the horses have your trust, they'll try to do just about whatever you tell them to. Veterans can take what they've learned at
The staff was fantastic and very friendly. They really helped me connect with the horse, which helped me connect with myself.
Got the chance to work with this amazing program during a clinic at Ft. Campbell. It was amazing to watch them in action helping Soldiers and their families. As a therapist, I understand the importance of unconditional positive regard and relationships (with other humans and horses) in dealing with PTSD. It was clear from day 1 everyone was now part of the Veteran Barn Door family, not just a participant. I hope to continue working with them in the future!
Amazing opportunity to work with horses. Staff very professional. Humbling experience to feel connect to the horse.
I live in Montana and have been disabled for 15 years now. I dont leave my house much anymore unless it's to tend to my horses. I went to wisdom to see what it was all about. I found out I wasn't as alone as I thought. I also learned how to look at it from different aspects. This was so much fun and I learned so much. I cant wait to go again next year. This helps more than what people think
The project was instrumental in helping me cope with anxiety. Instructors take a great deal of time to ensure everyone benefits from the program. Program would benefit more soldiers by incorporating it after deployments. PTSD, anxiety, and depression are a few issues the program helps with. I would recommend it to all veterans seeking help.
Greg and Tony gave each participant the courage and freedom to challenge their anxiety with kindness and respect. It was an honor to participant.
A very unique and relaxing experience. The instructors are very knowledgeable about the horses and also know how to read and work withe project could incorporate more roles/activities based upon the size of the group.
Greg, Tony and Mike & Tammy are incredible. Mike and Tammy's facilities were an awesome environment to learn and relax and grow. Thank. Every. Single. Minute. Overflowing with humility and love. Rob
Did a good job introducing vets to horses and allowing the training and the binding to help heal the vet.
Help me build confidence dealing with such a large animal and also relay in how to build confidence Within Myself. Little bit of time management skills can be improved on I guess.
There's just something about working with the horses that makes you realize how much you carry with you constantly because they mimic your feelings and emotions. I absolutely loved this workshop, but I also had a difficult time because I carry so much with me that I can't seem to let go. Seeing that reflected in the horse was difficult for me, and was a very emotional event. But I needed it. Even though the workshop just ended yesterday I want more!! Thank you Steve for working and sharing with the Soldiers at the WTU here at Campbell. I hope you realize how much it means to us and how much we appreciate you and what you're doing.
Do a very good job at helping people leave all the bad things in life at the door. I love how willing they were to help my 10yr old son feel like he’s a part of what the adults are doing. As for improving maybe they could offer one of the program during summer in order to make it easier to attend and let people know that boots are basically a requirement 🙂
They are doing well with the teachings and training, beneficial for eveyone. Website could be updated
More funding since it is non profit and maybe have the class go for more days and get more people involved so there can be bigger classes
Working with Horses has been the single best thing that I have done with WTB program. And it was an experience of a lifetime!
VBDP is an amazing organization. The weekend was therapeutic, fun, and informative. Everyone involved was kind, welcoming and extremely talented in their particular field of expertise. The way that they help Veterans through horse work is incredible. Will be attending another clinic for sure in the future.
I witnessed a wonderful interactions among veterans from many different era's, back grounds and experiences! By the end of day one ypu would have thought this group knew one another for years! Everyone was joking laughing having a good time!

Very helpful in creating a bond and breaking away from current stresses. Relieved alot of stress and tension and building a relationship one on one with a horse is amazing. The instructors are incredible people and very understanding. Only wish is that they had more classes or were around more often. Otherwise perfect and wonderful.
They were amazing with helping me cope with my issues. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome. Sweet and insightful guys who like to help the veterans and the animals.
The Non profit was very helpful with connecting to Army Service members and took really good care for the animals they worked with.

Rob, thank you so much for the kind review!
