Mission: Leading our community to eliminate pet overpopulation through Spay/Neuter, Adoption, and Humane Education!
Results: The VHS was founded in 1957 and is the oldest & largest nonprofit animal welfare agency in the region. We have facilitated adoption placement for hundreds of thousands of animals to date, along with spaying & neutering more than 120,000 animals since our Davidson Rausch Low-Cost Spay & Neuter Clinic opened in 2007. For many years we have also accomplished impactful work such as providing Humane Education for K-12 children; providing food to pets in struggling families through our pet food pantry; and offering low-cost vaccination & wellness services to keep pets in our community healthy.
