Mission: Valley primary care network serves as a catalyst to bring federally funded health centers and other health related entities together to develop and implement programs that respond to documented health and social service needs of the residents of the texas lower rio grande valley.
Programs: Vpcn's healthy start program:provides health related information including prenatal care, immunizations, diabetes, etc. To women in its service area (five counties: cameron, willacy, hidalgo, starr and zapata). In addition, pregnant hispanic women and their newborns, in the interconceptional period, receive case management services and are provided with information/counseling and referrals to address their risk factors specific to prenatal care and healthful behaviours to improve pregnancy outcomes.
