Mission: Valley Improvement Projects’ Mission Statement: To improve the quality of life of underrepresented and marginalized residents of California’s Central Valley, by promoting social and environmental issues through youth outreach, education, technology, and art.
Results: Over 20,000 clean syringes given out/10,000 dirty syringes properly disposed, 100+ bikes repaired/given out, hundreds of people given free food/clothes, internet/phone access, and information regarding our rights and health.
Target demographics: Ourselves, our people, and our environment
Direct beneficiaries per year: 300 homeless people, 5 statewide coalitions, 200 youth and 20 artists.
Geographic areas served: the San Joaquin Valley
Programs: Bike repair, syringe exchange, know your rights/hip hop history/dinner and a movie night, environmental/social justice workshops.
