Vacker Place

Programs: Lakeview ranch, a vacker place residence, a non-profit 501(c)3 care provider is dedicated to providing quality of life and peace of mind to residents, families, and staff. Lakeview ranch was founded in 1999 and its facilities and residents were procured by vacker place in mid-november 2014, a minnesota nonprofit corporation with exemption established in 2014 specifically to continue operations. Lakeview ranch has 2 home-like communities located in darwin and dassel, minnesota which provide housing, healthcare and engaging activities to seniors and the people that support them. We believe that dementia does not define the person and have created a community to enhance the lives of those served. It is a place that encourages freedom, decision-making and resident rights. We provide care, respect and engaging opportunities to each resident served. The darwin location provides services for up to 14 residents with dementia while the dassel location provides services for up to 18 residents. Lakeview ranch is an alternative style of care for people with dementia, focusing on the person's emotional, spiritual and changing health needs. The model allows for a high staff to patient ratio which allows the persons with dementia to maintain dignity and engagement in their lives. The model also includes highly trained direct care workers, registered and licensed practical nurse coverage for individualized care plans and coordination of care directly with the physicians. In 2017, lakeview cared for 36 people living with dementia, which totaled 8,997 resident days. Lakeview ranch believes in aging in place - regardless of ability to pay. Aging in place allows the resident to live comfortably in one place until the end-of-life. Our full time activities staff help to fill each day with engaging and meaningful activities adding to the quality of life and sense of community at the ranch.
