Programs: Financial aid for young adult uus for work/study projects in palestine and israel and educational presentations following the trips. Awarded a travel scholarship to one young adult (by definition ages 18-35). Cosponsorship with friends of sabeel north america (fosna) of 18 city tour in january/february 2017 "no child behind bars" with nadia tannous of fosna and amanda weatherspoon m. Div. Uu minister and former uujme board member. The tour was focused on abuse of palestinian children by the israeli security system. Amanda was a recipient of a work/study scholarship for travel to israel and palestine in 2015.
booth in exhibit hall and offered 2 evening programs with refreshments at 2017 general assembly of unitarian universalist association of congregations at new orleans la. Participated in the official ga program entitled "decolonization is climate justice" with q&a. Mazin qumsiyeh, who is mentioned in accomplishment 3 was a panelist. This workshop was attended by approximately 150. The exhibit hall booth was visited by approximately 200 uus attending the general assembly. It included a photo exhibit by tracey rogers entitled "movements of oppression, solidarity and hope". Materials relevant to the reflection and learning project were available as well as opportunities to meet and converse with the presenters at the official program. A book by patricia holt, a uujme supporter entitled "committee of one" was available to booth visitors.
