Mission: The urban tree alliance is a madison, wisconsin, based non-profit created to preserve and grow the urban forest canopy of dane county.
Programs: In 2014, the urban tree alliance assessed, pruned, and stabilized over 1,000 trees for private clients, community groups, schools, non-profit organizations, and municipalities. The organization also planted approximately 200 tress, the majority of which were donated for planting through community involvement. The organization worked with over 150 school kids of different ages to learn about and plant trees and assisted property owners in selecting, sourcing, and planting suitable trees. The organization assisted 3 schools, 4 community groups, 3 municipalities, and hundreds of private property owners in managing and understanding their urban forest. This assistance included tree inventories, written management plans, summary documents, and public presentations. The urban tree alliance also created the madison tree map online mapping tool.
