Mission: To Assist African Americans And Other Minorities In The Achievement Of Social And Economic Equality.
Results: * Assisted 112 families in just three months from October to December through our Foreclosure Counseling Program * 90% of the youth in our First Time Offenders program do not re-offend after 1 year of going through our program * 336 families participated in the homebuyer education programs * ULPBC NULITES Chapter has been honored as chapter of the year 3 times and 2 of our youth have been recognized as NULITER of the Year * There are 120 youth in the National Achievers Society and all students must maintain all A’s and B’s on their report cards. * 90% of youth that go through our work skills development program remain employed after 1 year. * Received the Gold Level Certification from Nonprofits First * 100% of all graduating seniors in 2008 from the NULITES and National Achievers Society programs have been accepted and will attend high education. * 864 individuals and families served by our Housing Counseling Services * 336 individuals received homebuyer education which better preparing them to become home buyers * Received site approval on our new 11-unit townhome project * More than 11,000 people were assisted by our Community Development programs and services * 156 disabled clients served through our support coordination group * Urban League Young Professionals offered the ViTA program and completed over 200 tax returns for low-income residents brining back $270,000 to the community.
Target demographics: The Urban League of Palm Beach County assist underserved residents with programs and services in the areas of youth, education, housing, economic empowerment and services for developmentally disabled.
