Mission: Ueda is a membership association dedicated to the professional development of individuals and groups working in economic and community development in wisconsin. Ueda's work has focused primarily on housing development, economic development and job creation with an emphasis on regional transportation, foreclosure mitigation, sustainable homeownership and regional food initiatives.
Programs: Take root milwaukee: a program of ueda, this initiative is in partnership with the city of milwaukee, freddie mac and more than 45 other members to promote sustainable homeownership resources and strong neighborhoods. Ueda provides administrative and fiscal services, assisting with various events and activities that promote homeownership education, connect consumers to homebuying and home repair and resources, and mitigate the impact of foreclosures on neighborhoods.
other collaborative projects: ueda also engages in other initiatives as an intermediary organization, assisting to build and facilitate collaboration among individuals, organizations and groups working in economic and community development. Examples include the financial equity group, food enterprise development network (fedn), money smart week wisconsin - milwaukee planning council, and small business affinity group (all active projects of ueda).
capacity building: providing information, services and networking opportunities to ueda members. Ueda works to keep its members informed and updated on the key issues that impact their work including housing, neighborhood revitalization, real estate development, financial capability, lending, government regulations, entrepreneurship and small business support. Outcome examples are monthly newsletters, educational and/or networking events, quarterly community updates, listserv and social media engagement.
