Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Health, Health Support

Mission: The Foundation has helped thousands of patients overwhelmed with rising out-of-pocket medical expenses gain access to CranioSacral Therapy and other integrative modalities that treat malfunctions involving the brain and spinal cord, chronic pain and other conditions that cause physical and emotional impairment. The Foundation has received national recognition for its contribution to the health betterment of war veterans, special needs children and infants with wide-ranging health conditions such as formerly conjoined Egyptian twins Mohamad and Ahmed Ibrahim. The CranioSacral Therapy funded by the Foundation was developed by osteopathic physician and surgeon John E. Upledger, who was named one of America's next wave of innovators by TIME magazine in 2001. CranioSacral Therapy has been credited for treating a host of conditions in patients from all over the world, including Olympian Mary Ellen Clark, whose treatments with Dr. Upledger successfully cured her vertigo and enabled her comeback to earn a second Olympic medal in diving.
