Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Crime & Law, Sexual Abuse Prevention
Mission: Unlock Freedom stands to combat human trafficking and fight for freedom. We fight for the future of America’s young people, and challenge them to fight for themselves. Our Strategies: Educate: Educating for the sake of prevention. Train: Training professionals to identify and respond to victims. Unite: Uniting leaders in the fight for justice. Empower: Empowering others to join the fight and take a stand.
Results: The following are results from our pre/post test, as analyzed by our partners at University of Oklahoma, Tulsa campus: Student comments indicated enhanced knowledge of: - Vulnerability factors - Perpetrator characteristics and tactics - Magnitude of the problem/impact -Proximity of/personal connection to the issue/risk - Comments about changing behaviors: - Desire to educate self more - Desire to educate others/raise awareness - Desire to protect self - Desire to protect others - Ability to respond to danger - Changing social media settings, behaviors - Wanting to take action Quotes from Students: "If I had known even half of this just a year ago, I could have saved myself and some of my friends from a lifetime of trauma." "I feel compelled to share this on social media, to not only educate people on the dangers of human trafficking, but also to protect them from becoming a victim." "I have changed all my (social media) settings to private." "I had no idea this was going on in Oklahoma. Now that I know, I want to prevent this." "I blocked people I don't know on Instagram."

Programs: Project #ITSTOPSWITHME curriculum is a four-lesson program that can be implemented into the student body through clubs, classroom study, etc. Lessons are laid out as follows: 1. THE FACTS - What is Human Trafficking Anyway? 2. THE FUEL - What is Fueling Sex Trafficking in America Today? 3. THE FORMULA - How Do Traffickers Get Their Victims? 4. THE FIGHT - What Can I Do to Make a Difference? Through these revealing lessons, videos, interactive discussion, and tools for activism, students will become educated and inspired to do their part to combat human trafficking in America. They will join teenagers across the country in making the decision that #ITSTOPSWITHME
