Mission: University of jamestown is a community dedicated to the development of wholeness in our students. We adhere to a curriculum of academic excellence which balances the ideals of the liberal arts tradition and sound professional preparation. Programs: University of jamestown is a residential, independent, four-year, coeducational, liberal arts college related to the presbyterian church (u. S. A. ). The college was chartered in 1884. The first classes began in september 1886. Throughout its more than 100-year history, jamestown college has consistently stood for academic excellence and christian principles in all that it does. The college offers bachelor of arts and bachelor of science degrees in 50 major areas of study, as well as 33 minors and 13 pre-professional and certification programs. The university expanded its offerings and began a doctoral program in 2013. University of jamestown has been a continuous accredited member of the north central association since 1920. Post-secondary education: instruction - academic programs with approximately 900 fte students enrolled. Bachelor of arts, bachelor of science, masters and doctoral degrees are awarded by the institution.
