Causes: Children & Youth, Youth Development - Agricultural
Mission: The primary purpose for which this association is formed is to promote the educational objectives of the okeechobee county 4-h youth development program, under direction of the florida cooperative extension service, university of florida; to foster mental, physical, social, and all other aspects of youth development; to support extension programs in the interest of youth.
Programs: Okeechobee 4-h provides low cost day camps during the summer. These camps have an educational theme. Each day the youth are bussed to a different destination that furthers the educational theme of the camp. Approximatly 425 youth are served by these camps.
okeechobee county 4-h provides leadership and monetary support to approximatly 30 4-h clubs serving approximatly 624 youth. Each club has a theme and club activities are organized with that theme in mind.
other program service accomplishments include community outreach and hosting 4h events.
