Programs: For many years, the united way of lamar county has served as the primary fund raiser for many non-profits in lamar county. In the fall of every year, an elaborate campaign is held which penetrates industry, schools, small business, commercial, government and professional entities in lamar county and raises over $500,000. This money is allocated to agencies in lamar county. Over the past several years, the united way of lamar county has also started helping the community in other areas.
community volunteers prepare income tax returns for free for qualified low to middle income families. Other projects include the mud volley ball tournament and the lamar county homelessness coalition.
