Mission: The mission of united summit center is to provide quality behavioral health services to people who have acute and chronic psychiatric disabilities, developmental disablilities, substance abuse problems and to people who are in crisis in an effort to assist in the achievement of their fullest potential where there is a service need within the state of west virginia and to the extent that we are economically capable.
Programs: Community services programs - in home and community based training and supportive services which are intended to increase the person's level of functioning and independence. In 2016, the center provided 634,694 hours of service.
act program - it is wv's oldest act program serving harrison, marion, and lewis counties. Act has been referred to as a "hospital without walls" due to its therapeutic and restorative nature outside of a controlled environment. The program serves individuals with chronic and severe mental illness in a community setting. Act strives to preserve the placement of individuals in the community and keep them out of psychiatric hospital(s). Services are more intense than typical outpatient behavioral health services. Staff are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Act staff is trained in crisis intervention with access to mobile crisis services, if needed, as well as psychiatrist, physician extender, and a registered nurse. Act offers psychiatric evaluations and medication management, along with medication education, individual and group therapy, substance abuse treatment, case management, and support services. In 2016, the center provided 70,380 hours of service.
residential services - residential services encompass 4 facilities for a combined total of 46 beds. Services include substance abuse treatment services and residential services for the psychiatrically disabled. In 2016, the center provided 80,078 hours of service.
