Mission: The mission of heartland community action agency, inc. Is building stronger communities by providing opportunities that empower people in need.
Programs: Child education:head start/early head start combines state of the art early childhood learning research with decades of family development experience to deliver school readiness - one family at a time. In 2014, heartland provided head start services to 272 children and their families, while early head start served 45 children and families. Early head start/head start's success is based on the creation of compassionate partnerships between staff and parents on behalf of their young children.
weatherization and energy assistance:energy assistance: assists households in meeting heating fuel costs and providing furnace repair. Weatherization: provides energy conservation improvements to reduce heating and cooling expenses through measures such as insulation, heating systems and consumer education. This program served approximately 3,250 households in 2014.
community services:provides a combination of services including community resources information and referral, advocacy, parenting skills, transportation, food support assistance and healthcare enrollment. Heartland served 1,860 households in 2014.
