Causes: Health, Surgical Specialties
Mission: The organization mobilizes surgeons, nurses, medical professionals and a network of volunteers to execute medical service trips throughout latin america.
Programs: In 2017 uhmla made two trips: one in february to honduras and the second in september to guatemala. Each trip consisted of a team of 15+ people including surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and support personnel. Approximately 100 patients were screened at each location and 65-100 were selected to have surgery. All surguries led to a good outcome.
