Mission: Our mission at Two Sisters Helping Hand Inc. is to be a committed force in helping others, working collaboratively with community leaders, humanitarians, and other organizations. We are dedicated to enriching lives and being a valuable helping hand to those in need. Through our services and programs, we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of low-income families and individuals, providing them with essential support and resources to thrive. Results: Our non-profit organization, Two Sisters Helping Hand Inc, has achieved several key milestones since our establishment in February 2014. Here are some notable accomplishments and important dates in our journey: 1. February 2014: Two Sisters Helping Hand Inc was founded with the mission to assist low-income families and individuals in our community. 2. 2015: We established partnerships with local homeless shelters and domestic violence shelters to support families transitioning into permanent housing, as well as hosted our first back to school event.. 3. 2016: We expanded our services to include providing essential items for newborns, such as diapers, wipes, formula, and clothing to support mothers in need. 4. 2017: We organized our first annual fundraising event, which received significant support from the local community and helped us raise additional funds to sustain and expand our programs. 5. 2018: We launched an outreach program to raise awareness about our services and reach a greater number of individuals and families in need. We also began collecting Christmas toys to giveaway during the holiday. 6. 2019: We successfully obtained funding to set up a computer and printer access center, which enables our clients to search for jobs, create and update resumes. We received a community partnership with Health & Human Services to assist with applications for state benefits including SNAP, TANF, and Medicaid as well as a partnership with the IRS Vita Tax Program to provide tax preparation for low income individuals. 7. 2020: Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we adapted our services to ensure the safety of our clients and volunteers. We implemented virtual assistance programs and organized drive-through distribution events for essential items. Looking ahead, we have set ambitious goals to continue growing and positively impacting the lives of those we serve. We are committed to providing ongoing support, expanding our reach, and fostering partnerships with other community organizations to create a lasting impact
Target demographics: assist families and individuals in need
Direct beneficiaries per year: 200 youth with backpacks for school, 100 children with toys for Christmas, 10 families with full meals for Thanksgiving, we have partnered with school counselors to assist students with socks, clothing, hygiene products as well as menstrual products. and has continuously provided school supplies and other items throughout the school year.
Geographic areas served: Fort Bend & Harris County low-income communities
Programs: Back to school Event, Christmas toy giveaways, we provide food for families during Thanksgiving, we also are a Community Partner with the Texas Health & Human Services Commission to provide assistance with completing applications for state benefits suck as SNAP, TANF and Medicaid. We offer a Diaper Pantry for mothers to be and mothers with children 3 and under. Our organization also provide resources and household items for families transitioning from homeless & domestic violence shelters.
