Mission: To serve the human and natural resource needs of west central georgia.
Programs: Environmental & farm education - provides local contractors, developers, and others involved in land disturbing activities with state mandate certification training to control urban area soil erosion. Co-sponsers events and provides educational materials specifically designed to educate citizens on environmental areas of concern and better, more efficient farming methods. Also, educates livestock producers on innovative grazing system techniques to reduce dependence on stored forage. Since 2007 the environmental programs have served over 3,700 participants.
notill - individuals can rent drills to establish pasture on the rolling topography of west central georgia. Seed is placed directly in the ground in one pass without prior soil preparation. Area farmers took advantage of nine rental drills offered by two rivers and improved soil health on 3,475 acres.
raised pavement marker service - this program provides installation of gdot certified reflective markers which greatluy enhance night driving visability and motorist safety while complementing the road stripe service. 113 miles of markers were were recently installed in fayette and troup counties.
