Causes: Technology
Mission: Education: grades 6 thru 12. The twin cities regional science fair (tcrsf) exists solely for the betterment of youth grades 6-12 in the twin cities area. Our mission is to promote hands on science learning activities and provide interaction with professionals, discussion of project goals, presentation of ideas, and project analysis for all youth in the twin cities area. We strongly support under-represented groups with financial assistance, mentor involvement, and project guidance. We strive to motivate, encourage, and support all efforts by a philosophy of, "everyone who tries is a winner. "
Programs: Partnerships in education programs: we served approximately 850 students from the twin cities who competed with science project displays and science research papers. We send at least 20% of our student competitors to advanced competitions at the state, national, and international levels. Doing a science project teaches and exercises cross disciplinary skills in reading, writing formal research papers, art & graphic design, math, statistics, computer science, critical thinking, logic, ethics, scientific methodology, research skills, the power of self discovery, general project planning skills, and public speaking including presentation of results to professional scientists. Doing a science project results in students who are practiced, skilled, self confident, and competent young leaders who have career goals and the preparation, discipline, and drive to attain them. Awards list is available on our website.
