Twenty-one students and three chaperones attended the annual israel experience trip, traveling to israel in may. Upper school math saw positive changes through a curriculum overhaul. Under the new system, 6th graders are learning geometry, and 8th graders are studying pre algebra. Tha continued to build on the work with gifted and talented students begun in 2015-16. Grant funding received during the year allowed for increased programming in the orthodox jewish education track. Three additional classrooms received updated smartboards, allowing for enhanced instructional opportunities. In march, tha once again hosted southern arizonas largest stem festival, connecting 45 science, technology, engineering, and math vendors and researchers with 1,500+ attendees. The organizations largest single fundraising event, tikkun olam, exceeded both the expected attendance and financial goals. A new and updated website was launched during the year, and the framework was put in place to create an alumni database, with work anticipated through grant funding which will fund the new marketing and community outreach coordinator during the following school year.
