The parents of the Tuckahoe Youth Football Association went to court, and took back the association from the people who have run the organization into the ground. Effective January 1, 2010, an entirely new group of actual parents (finally all board members actually have children in the association) have taken over the organization. They have a brand new web site, and the board members consist of professional people who will work hard to improve the organiation. Come join the NEW TYFA today!!!!

This organization has violated numerous County, State and Federal laws for years. They failed to submit 990EZ tax returns to the IRS for the years 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. Formal complaints have been filed with the IRS as gross receipts were over $105,000 in 2007 and over $75,000 in 2008. The organizaton lost their 501-C-3 status several years for failing to file tax returns and provide updated information to the IRS. Newly elected Treasurer Ron Pesetti was able to get the 501-C-3 status restored in 2009 by agreeing to provide the IRS with ammended tax returns for 2005, 2006 and 2007. Ron Pesetti also identified numerous violations of law involving this association which included a failure to obtain a Sales & Use Tax Exemption in Virginia, continuing to collect fundraising and mandatory charitable contributions after losing their 501-C-3 status, failing to be registered as a C Corporation in Virginia during 2008, failing to ever obtain a business license in Henrico County, failure to register the business with the Virginia Department of Agriculture and obtain the proper registration needed to collect fundraising monies, failing to provide financial disclosure to it's members and the general public, and refusing to provide disclosure of form 1023 to it's members and the general public. Ron Pesetti also identifed numerous violations of the bylaws to include holding onto large amounts of cash for up to months at a time without making a deposit and failing to have the financial books audited. In order to prevent newly elected Treasurer Ron Pesetti from gaining access to the past financial records of the organization, the board members changed the bylaws which prevented Ron from getting access to the past financial records of the organization in his role as Treasurer. This was done in violation of the Virginia Code. After Ron Pesetti identified numerous violations of laws and began notifying County, State and Federal officals of the violations, the Tuckahoe Board Members immediately voted to remove him from the board. The only two board members elected by the children and parents for 2009 (Ron Pesetti/Treasurer and Mike Ayers/President) were removed from the board by the remaining Tuckahoe board members.

The Tuckahoe Youth Football Association board is completely incompetent in my opinion. In addition to violating nearly all local, state and federal laws, the board members have been violating multiple Virginia fundraising laws for years by not being registering with the Department of Agriculture for fundraising activities and allowing profits to be generated from the actual fundraisers themselves and distributed amongst it's members. The President of the Tuckahoe organization actually told a parent last year in writing that they were not required to file an annual 990EZ tax return with the IRS! The fact that the President does not know even the basic laws for a 501-C-3 entity says it all! The first board member who actually tried to do it right was Ron Pesetti the Treasurer elected by the Children and parents for 2009. As soon as he began notifiying local, state and federal officials of illegal activity at the association, he was voted off the board by the other board members!!!
