Mission: TruPurge will continuously work to protect vulnerable children, adults with disabilities, and anyone else who finds themselves in the bonds of exploitation. Our goal is to find a way to end human trafficking in this generation so that no one else needs to deal with this evil practice ever again. We take the fight to those who think that it is righteous to harm another person for financial gain in some way. No form of bondage is acceptable in our eyes. Even the proclivity of debt that forms when a family tries to make a better life for themselves can build the foundation for future exploitation. It is time to say that enough is enough with modern slavery. Human trafficking can take on many forms, which is why it can be challenging to identify at times around the world. It involves the recruitment, harboring, and transportation of people into situations of exploitation by using coercion, deception, and violence to force them to do something against their will. There is no way out for the people who find themselves in this situation. Trafficking can involve forced labor, domestic servitude, forced marriage, begging, criminality, and even forced organ removal. A person does not need to be transported over state, provincial, or national boundaries for trafficking to take place. Some of the most common forms of exploitation happen in our communities right now. People are vulnerable when they want to escape poverty, improve the lives of their children, or support their family. Over half of the people who find themselves in this situation are women, and another 28% of them are children. 43% of the victims of human trafficking never leave their home country. Now is the time to learn more about human trafficking and modern slavery. Several ways to take action exist right now. Let’s end this practice forever.
