Mission: Trinity academy for the performing arts
Programs: Trinity academy for the performing arts is an arts-integrated public charter school for students in grades 7-12. Tapa is a community of practice, where culture, the performing arts and an expanded learning time are all fundamental components of a rigorous acedemic program. Tapa is woven into the diverse and creative fabric of the city of providence, fostering engaged, well-rounded artistic leaders. Our school has a sustained track record of acedemic success, consistently outperforming its sending school district. In the most recent parcc state test, tapa out-performed all providence middle schools in reading, and ninety percent of providence high schools in math. Our graduation and attendance rates, which are in the upper 90th percentile, far exceed our sending district. Between strong sat scores and an all-encompassing college preparation curriculum, tapa graduates are ready to excel in higher education - exceeding local and national averages for first-generation college students. For all of these reasons, the demand for seats at tapa greatly exceeds the available openings. Through extensive support, individual attention, small class size, and access to outstanding opportunities, we enable urban students who tradionally have not had access to the performing arts or higher education to flourish in those settings.
