Causes: Education, Vocational & Technical Schools
Mission: This corporation's purpose is as follows. A. To proclaim the gospel of jesus christ to all men and women in accordance with the holy scriptures (bible), to lead them to a personal relationship with jesus christ as their savior, lord and life; to promote the christian faith in accordance with the holy scriptures by means of witness, service and fellowship, to arouse, motivate and support mission-oriented living, in accordance with scripture, in word and deed; and to strive to increase the kingdom of god throughout the world, thereby being bringers of light ("torchbearers") b. To conduct bible schools, youth camps, seminars, conferences, and such other meetings or activities to carry out the above purpose c. To become an affiliated member of, and retain good standing in, the worldwide missionary fellowship of torchbearers. D. To engage in any lawful act or activity for which nonprofit corporations may be organized under the texas nonprofit corporation act.
Programs: Bible school - his hill is a non-denominational bible school program for college age students, the two-year course is designed to move students towards an understanding of the indwelling person of jesus christ though the study and application of god's word. The students spend twenty-three hours of class per week learning about christ through the bible from guest and resident lecturers. The curriculum is in part a study of the old and new testaments, plus speaking methods, discipleship, missions and evangelism, worldviews, and principles of christian living. Each week every student is also involved in an outreach to the local community, which includes but is not limited to mentoring in the local schools, visiting the nursing homes, and organizing after school clubs for kids.
summer camp - during the summer months his hill is a non-denominational christian summer camp for boys and girls, ages 6 through 18 years old. For 9 weeks out of the summer we are an over night camp, and for one week a day camp. We have approximately 100 kids per week participating in the many opportunities to develop skills in activities such as swimming, canoeing, climbing, rappelling, team challenges, horse back riding, archery, arts & crafts, basketball, dodge ball, and tennis. The children also enjoy large group games, camp songs, weekly themes, and inspirational bible teaching. For two out of the 9 weeks we have scholarship weeks for underprivileged kids from the inner city and other ministry's.
retreats - along with bible school and camp we host retreats and bible conferences for youth and adults from around the hill country here in texas. Also when available our facilities can be rented for weekend church retreats and we provide housing, meals and activities if they so desire.
