I am continuing my volunteerism for this organization for many years now and the mission aligns with my personal vision. We work with the cooperation of the Tonto National Forest Service on education to the general public about responsible off-highway vehicle use and resource conservation. Our volunteer's help to improve and maintain designated roads and trails used by off-highway vehicles within the Tonto National Forest. We educate the public on how to maintain the beauty of the Forest and how to properly clean up after themselves. We spend countless hours cleaning up after people that continue to litter through shooting through just dumping garbage. We have struggled with funding that goes toward tools we use and items we rent like tractor trailer dumpsters used for us to fill with the garbage we collect during our cleaning so they can be hauled away. This cost alone takes it's toll on the funds we collect. We also post signs and kiosk to assist in navigation of off-highway persons. This is a big help to all that travel these roads to know where they are, how far they are from an exit in the event of an emergency and to provide for them to feed information to emergency crews to aid them in finding them if need be.
The passion all the volunteers have is outstanding and the numbers are growing. There is a large amount of work that we take on and the grant money helps fund our volunteers by providing tools to complete the required work. We would like to thank those that provide funding toward our cause.
