Mission: The Timberland Regional Library Foundation was founded in 1997 by a group of citizens concerned that limits on public funding would impair the ability of the Timberland Regional Library to maintain the quality of services it offered to 400,000 residents in Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific and Thurston counties in southwest Washington. It works to raise funds to ensure that Timberland offers computer access, new technology and up-to-date materials at all its community libraries, especially those in rural areas where many patrons face economic difficulties due to declines in traditional logging and fishing industries.
