This organization does a great job at reaching people in need of emotional support and therapy by going to various different places. The presence of the dogs brings a calming, loving, safe atmosphere where people of all ages and backgrounds are able to let their guards down. I have witnessed people saying "this 30 minutes was the best part of my day"!
I am a licensed counselor at a high-end, drug and alcohol treatment center. Our clients beg us to give them access to therapy dogs and cats. I see the huge difference in their nervous systems and temperaments when they return from visiting the rescue programs. They are smiling, relaxed and grateful.
I was able to spend a week with the TimberKnoll Newfies at their home. The owners had me take part in the water rescue events. And I was lucky enough to be able to hug the dogs for days. They calmed my nervous system deeply. I left there feeling serene and like a could handle anything. I know my clients, and anyone with trauma, would heal much more quickly and deeply if they could work with TimberKnoll Spirit Cove.

The amazing breed of Newfoundlands entered my life as an adult and have filled my heart with joy, kindness and strength. The Newfoundland dog is an amazing animal to share with all people. I have been blessed to see first hand how the interaction the Newfoundland has with Veterans and First Responders. When COVID was peaking, the Drs. needed the dogs too and to see a Dr. fall to his knees hugging and holding on to these gentle giants for love, support and to ease the pain of loosing people on a daily basis shows the we are all Gods creatures put on this earth to help each other. That is what this organization does, they uplift and comfort the hurting for a better tomorrow.

I've worked with Newfoundland dogs for more than 20 years and have seen miracles happen with Newfoundland therapy dogs. I joined the board of TimberKnoll Newfoundlands in 2018 and couldn't be more proud of the organization's work to bring joy and healing to people suffering. The organization is managed and driven by a large and dedicated group of volunteers who work endless hours bringing their Newfoundland therapy dogs to hospitals, first responder stations, veterans organizations, and schools. I've seen unresponsive patients speak for the first time when a Newfoundland therapy dog was comforting them. I've seen traumatized high school students gain confidence in themselves while working with Newfoundland therapy dogs, these dogs just reach people in a way that general therapy sometimes can't. I am so proud to be a part of an organization that is so committed to helping people.
My wife and I volunteer to take our newfoundland dogs to the hospital where they visit with the nursing staff and the patients. The visits are so rewarding. Spirit Cove staff have helped me find other opportunities. The work they support and their mission is so pertinent to our own personal goals. We are both nurses and seeing the joy the visits bring is so rewarding and our dogs love it too. Spirit Cove has made it possible for us to help carry on their mission
Spirit Cove has provided me an opportunity to do the work I love with my dog and my background as a nurse. We have visited the hospital, the nursing home, the fire station and the senior center on a frequent basis. I enjoy speaking with members of the organization and sharing my stories. They are responsive and dedicated to the mission. I also enjoy fulfilling my desire to work with organizations doing great work and I am proud to be on the board of directors.

Doing an amazing job: 1. Connecting their loving and healing, therapy dogs with many people who are suffering. These are people in hospitals, first responders, military personnel, and many others who need therapy. They love the dogs. TK is Well coordinated and very well received. Great feedback from the institutions. 2. Identifying, networking, and taking action to develop their future work with alcoholics and addicts who will be greatly helped by their dogs. 3. Training their dogs to be excellent therapy dogs. 4. Gathering an excellent team to help run their non profit. 5. The passion to do this work, by the people who run this organization, is extraordinary. They need more staff.
This nonprofit is there for people who need a boost in morale. They love everyone and show it well. Something that they could improve on is communicating, but everybody could improve on communicating

Seeing the love the dogs give to people they come in contact with us amazing you can literally see people's moods change and can tell that person needed that interaction with that dog it is an amazing site to see ... They are doing by far an amazing job at helping those in need... I don't see no improvement needed this group is amazing from all the dogs to all the handlers

During the COVID pandemic the organization reacted quickly to the urgent need to provide first responders and healthcare workers stress relief when they desperately needed it. The therapy teams visited hospitals and fire stations and the dogs created so much joy, it was amazing to see!
I've been a volunteer and have sat on the board of directors for this organization for the last four years. I've worked as an animal therapy handler with my Newfoundland dog's Abraham and Chewie. I've seen incredible reactions from patients who were in pain or depressed when they first came in contact with the Newfoundland therapy dogs. You can see the change take place almost immediately. People who are sad find themselves laughing, and people who are traumatized seem to find peace when their arms are wrapped around a Newfoundland therapy dog. I've helped organize a group of therapy dogs to visit with students where I attend college, Princeton University. Students there put a huge amount of pressure on themselves to succeed and, during exam time, are desperate for stress relief. Therapy dogs give them an escape from daily pressures. All therapy dogs are special, but giant Newfoundland dogs gain an incredible reaction from people, perhaps because of their huge size and the gentleness of their personalities. The organization has helped more than 40,000 people since the pandemic's beginning, including first responders, veterans, hospital workers, and essential workers on the front lines. I can't say enough good things about this organization.
TimberKnolls Spirit Cove is dedicated to brightening the lives of people suffering from trauma, illness, or substance abuse. I've served on the board of directors since the organization's inception in 2018 and couldn't be more proud to serve its mission. Especially these last several years, the pandemic caused so much trauma, stress, and depression among our local community heroes. Watching someone with PTSD from the trauma they experienced, melt into a massive Newfoundland, seeking comfort and peace, is one of the most powerful experiences I've ever had. The organization has grown from just a few dedicated volunteers to over 80 volunteers in the last few years. The animal-assisted therapy teams bring so much joy to so many people, you can just see the healing taking place.
I am a donor because I believe that Timberknolls Spirit Cove Inc is a serious organization. The board of directors is formed of experienced managers, educators, healthcare providers, financiers, and Big dog lovers. But especially because Newfoundlands and Giant breed dogs are the perfect match for helping humans through challenging times.
