Causes: Health
Mission: To provide support and assistance to leukemia patients and their families through swabbing events, meals delivered to families of patients and funding research to cure leukemia/lymphoma.
Programs: Program 1: bone marrow donor registry drives. In 2017, we registered 2,399 bone marrow donors at 102 drives across maryland and the country. This resulted in 54 matches between people we registered and patients in need of a transplant, and four life-saving donations.
program 2: patient meals. In 2017, we funded the blood cancer patients and family meals through movable feast equivalent to approximately 16,800 meals. These meals are medically-tailored and home-delivered to blood cancer patients and their families in baltimore city and county who have been referred by a social worker.
