Nonprofit Overview
Mission: To foster, encourage, and increase the community's understanding of lmw healthcare, inc. , promote greater involvement in the services of the hospital, help provide supplementary financial assistance for hospital projects, give services to the hospital in cooperation with and support of other volunteers, and assist the hospital and any charitable organization affiliated with the hospital in such manner as the directors may determine.
Programs: In fiscal year 2017, the westerly hospital auxiliary made contributions to westerly hospital foundation, inc. , whose exempt purpose is to provide fundraising support to lmw healthcare, inc. , toward capital and operational needs that included: new tvs in the icu, a blood warmer/rapid infuser for the emergency department, educational materials for the cardiac rehabilitation program, and funds to offset the expense of providing transportation for patients in need. These funds were raised through auxiliary-sponsored projects, principally its "lights of love" project in conjunction with the december holidays. The westerly hospital auxiliary, established in 1926, remains a vital part of the philanthropy program in support of lmw healthcare, inc. And of its service to the patients and the community through contributions to westerly hospital foundation, inc.
